The New Out of Town Escapade is Nuvali Sta. Rosa, Laguna

Nuvali is the new out of town escapade for many at the moment. It’s located outside polluted (sorry but its true) and overly populated Metro Manila. It’s in Sta. Rosa, Laguna to be exact, a budding urbanized area with numerous factories but still offers a refreshingly green atmosphere.

What is Nuvali?

Although Nuvali itself is a real estate property and the park was intended for residential homes the developer intends to build, it’s still open for the public. In fact, you can stroll around the park for free, have a picnic at the wide grassland area, watch fishes, and take pictures of course.

What You can Do

Just watching seemingly countless Japanese koi fishes from opposite sides of the manmade lake is relaxing. You can feed them too but only through feeds sold at the center. You may also rent a bike and pedal your way towards the spacious area around Nuvali. You can also ride a boat but will have to wait for your turn as there is seemingly a never ending file of people reserved for any one of the 5 boats at the docking station. You will have to pay at least 6 seats too in case there’s only a few of you. The boat ride lasts for about 5 minutes and will journey through a man made lake overlooking the entire vicinity of the park.

Dining

If walking around or biking makes you hungry, there are several restaurants you can dine in. Many offer fine dining experience although a bit expensive, while many are your typical fast food. There are more restos as well as commercial shops when you cross towards the other side of the street coming from the park. We took lunch at Reyes Barbecue (right in front of The Last Leaf, a statue made from scrap metal) where I had a historical (for me) boneless chicken barbecue.

Overall

All in all, the trip to Nuvali was definitely worth the drive!
