Lazada Returns, Replacement, and Refund Process

After numerous orders from Lazada since last year, I have nothing but good words for the site. However, I have recently experienced something I have never expected. But I'd like to simply charge it to experience and take the opportunity to write suggestions and feedback to the site instead.

Background

I hope you'll be patient enough to read through the background story. It all started after ordering an item that ended up as out of stock from the authorized seller whom I purchased it from. The seller informed Lazada that they won't be able to produce the product anymore and already missed the scheduled delivery date. Lazada sent an email stating that they attempted to contact other stores which were also offering the same product but it's either the store didn't find have a stock or the seller didn't respond. Hence, they provided a free voucher worth Php 200 instead to compensate for the inconvenience even if I technically didn't pay for the item yet (ordered via cash on delivery). 

I used the voucher right away to purchase another product (a 32GB flash drive) which was on sale when I purchased it. But to my dismay, they sent me a different flash drive model from the same manufacturer with only 8GB of space. The device was exactly the same one we already have at home so what will I need it for? Besides, I ordered a 32GB, not an 8GB. So obviously I wanted to have it replaced. This is where all the problem started, if the above scenario is yet an issue to begin with.

Lazada Returns, Replacement, and Refund Process


The return process is a hassle. You need to send the item via LBC (their sister company supposedly) instead of giving it back to the delivery guy who delivered the item in the first place even if he was still there when we discovered that the item shipped is wrong. This process takes several business days to complete too. And the waiting time at LBC is longer than other types of transactions too. 

Replacement is also an issue. They can only process the replacement after acknowledging the return of the defective or incorrect product. So in the event that the SKU is out of stock at that exact moment, they will not be able to replace it. They won't wait for the item to be "in stock" again. But the item is still posted on their website as available though. 

They won't wait for you to respond to their emails too. So in case you don't read emails during the day, chances are, you will not be able to request for a replacement. They will automatically assign your ticket or request for refund instead. 

Speaking of refund, this also takes days to process. I finally received the refunds promised after contacting their email support several times and exchanging messages for heaven knows how many times (ugh)! I received two refunds via voucher codes which will obviously be used back to Lazada. 

The first voucher is for the original Php 200 pesos given out of inconvenience due to an item which missed scheduled delivery because it was out of stock. So the voucher used for the flash drive is converted back into a voucher again. :) It expires in a month from the moment it was released just like the first issued voucher.

The second voucher is for the money I paid for COD (cash on delivery) and shipping minus the discount from the original voucher. It expires in a year from the time issued.

All's well that ends well I hope. I just used the 200 pesos voucher code again. I do hope it works well. I'll use the other one soon; anyway, it doesn't expire in a year.

Bk maaya sbhn nila ako pa nagpalit nito. Gusto kong bassgin ang phone sa inis ko. Pramis kht ayoko magmura napamura ako. Kasi nag alala ako sa return dhil baka mamaya hnd paniwalaan.     3. Hindi ko na po pinapalitan kasi biglang nag-out of stock yung binili kong item kaya daw mas lower spaced item ang nadeliver (flash drive). Yung item na gusto ko, ibang seller na at mas mahal so may dagdag pa. I said nevermind, pa refund na lang.

    3. The only way to resolve her issue is to contact Lazada since sila ang magrerefund. The site had long been exposed but people still buy. I, personally, have purchased numerous items since 2014. May mga issues by and by pero nothing major. I'm sorry for those who had experienced something worse.

    1. 7 days replacement lang? Technically you contacted them naman before pa matapos yung 7 days kaya dapat considered within warranty pa rin yun. Can you check the page where you purchased it? See if you can find the seller's details. I-Google mo name nung seller. It's very likely na may ibang page yan online like sa Facebook.

    1. Yes. If you return the item and ask for a refund, same amount nga pero depende sa payment method. Yung sa kin, COD so the return is via a voucher lang which can only be used sa Lazada din. Contact them via email for more details.

    1. Send it back to Lazada through LBC. Wait for their confirmation email. The voucher code will also be sent via email upon confirmation that the item has been returned.

  18. May returned item ako. HDMI to vega converter and isang HDMI to hdmi coupler adapter. Defective. Nung binalik ko sinasabi ngayon ng lazada na kailangan niya Yung 2 items. Pinapalabas nila na yung 2 items is iisang order Lang. My god. Total of 1,048 ni refund Lang is 550 kasi daw Wala Yung coupler adapter. 6 days na. Wala parin action. Kung tatawag ka puro gagawin daw ng report. Wag na kayo mag order sa lazada please

    1. May nag-post ng useful tips through a forum. Let me paste them for reference:

      Some tips:

      It usually pays to see the star rating of a supplier. As much as possible only go for the higher rating. On the item itself, check the buyer's complaints and recommendations. The item itself also has a star rating. You need this for electronic items. So, thread carefully and make a sound decision before taking the plunge. Most of the items do not have any star rating at all as nobody has commented yet. But, if you badly need it, the next best thing is the supplier's rating.

      Don't always go for the lower priced item. Always check the supplier's star rating. I'd go for the higher priced ones if the supplier has a good rating. Otherwise, it's a risk. You're lucky if the item is the cheapest and the supplier has a good rating.

      If you have found an item cheaper than Lazada, always compute for the shipping cost if you intend to have it shipped via LBC anyway and compare the prices. Usually, it matches Lazada's price or a little lower or higher by a few pesos.

  27. Sumagot napo sakin ang lazada. Upon cheking daw tpos na warranty ng item. Diba kaoag s mall ka bumili ine week replacement one yeat service warranty... Ibig sabihin stock ang bnbenta sa lazada. Hnd man lng muna ichek ng lazada kung super stock n item na ipinapasok sknila. Nakkaawa custoner na nagtitwala sknila... Sabi ng lazada iapgawa ko nalang daw s mga reoair center na malapit sa lugar namin. One month old cp sa kamay ko for repair agad dahil no service warranty ang item na nakuha ko saknila haaay nadala na tuloy ako kumuha sa lazada. Uninstall ko na app nila.. Dati ok sila eh. Ngayon palpak.. 2nd time ko na kasi to. Ayoko n mapangatluhan...

    1. Sadly, nagiging trial and error na ang shopping via Lazada. It's like 1/10 or more ang issue. It's because of the sellers who use the platform. Hence, we also need to check the seller's reputation.

  28. Sakit sa ulo inabot ko sa pag order ko ng item sa Lazada. Kung alam ko lang sa mga physical store nalang ako bumili kesa yung ganto na naka tipid nga ako ng konti katakot takot na hassle naman aabutin ko. Bumili ako ng VR Box na may kasamang bluetooth controller. OK yung VR Goggles. Yung controller sira. Di nag o-on. Di ako makapag process ng return or replacement kasi hanggang ngaun yung status ng order ko ay "Processing" pa din kahit delivered na yung item. Itinawag ko sa Lazada sila na daw mg pprocess ng return authorization para sakin. Kaso ang problema kahit yung bluetooth controller lang yung sira kelangan ko ibalik pati ung VR Goggles. At mag aantay na naman ako ng ilang araw bago ma evaluate at ma process yung replacement. Bwiset.

    1. VR goggles? That's really cool but then again, it's better nga to see the item first hand. Gadgets can be damaged while in transit din kasi. I just hope your issue gets taken care of soon.

  29. I just process din ung return item ko. Actually it was a cancelled order na nag proceed. In order ko xa ng July 19 tapos kinancel ko ng July 21 dumating ng Aug2 kaya akala ko new order ko na. So nabayaran accidentally. Nkakabwiset kc hassle. Tapos ndi agad nauupdate sa system king delivered na ba ung item agad2 para kung magrereturn is mabilis maprocess lalo na ung refund. Sana lang tlaga mabilis ung refund ng pera.

    1. You should contact Lazada about cancelling the duplicate orders. May option naman to cancel. Check the email they sent as confirmation or login to your account (if you registered).

    1. Lahat ng delivered orders may return form/folder. Naka-address na sa nearest Lazada office yung return form. Wala ka bang nakuhang ganun? Kung wala, ask LBC. They know what to do since sister company/partner naman nila ang Lazada.

    1. You should ask for a replacement or return the item and get a refund. Ganyan din nangyari sa kin. They shipped an item (Cruzer memory card) na mas mababa ang space sa binili ko. They can't replace it kasi tapos na daw yung promo so I just asked for a refund.

    3. That's really sad. I think nagiging ineffective na ang quality control ng Lazada sa mga sellers nila. The application process to become a seller is very rigid (kasi nakita ko requirements dati) but once you're in, I get the site becomes lax for quality control.

  55. Am hoping ma refund pa yung item na nabili ko na worth 50k mag iisang buwan na sa Sabado yung follow up ko sa lazada, hanggang ngayon wala pa rin sagot. Gusto ko nang lumapit sa DTI para sila na tutulong sa akin. Tatapusin ko itong buwan ng November. Kung wala silang isasagot sa akin sa NOv. 29. Ididiretso ko na sa DTI yung concern ko tungkol sa lazada.

  56. Para po atang sinasadya nang mga seller na nagbebenta sa lazada na kung hinde mali ay sira yung pinapadala nila. Extra hassle talaga sa mga buyer yun, sa pagreturn pa lang nang item hassle na at matagal pa ang proseso. Matagal na ako bumibili sa lazada wala naman problema. Ngaun lang na ang binili ko pa ay 6 liters engine oil kasi wala available dito sa amin sa province at nag take advantage sa free shipping kaya hassle ang labas. Buti kung 100 difference lang e 2k un difference. Lesson na po eto sa atin lahat.

    1. True. Mga ilang beses na rin nangyari sa kin yan. Yung pinaka-recent, ngayong November lang. Ibang brand/item from the same seller. Parehong item type naman at pricing so hinayaan ko na. Nakakatamad ireturn for replacement. Baka biglang na-out of stock yung binili ko pero in stock naman sa Lazada. Pwede ring nagkamali sila.

The item looks, feels and sounds authentic naman and it's from a reputable seller (Digistore) whom I've purchased from several times na din. Kaso defective yung ear cushion ng headphones (chapped). Old stock ata kaya anlaki ng sale discount. Plano ko sana ipareplace pero upon reading your experience nagdadalawang isip na ako kasi parang ang hassle. Out of stock na din ngayon yung item sa Digistore pero may ibang sellers pa na may stock. You think if I'll return it marreplace nila yun or voucher refund lang din? Ayoko magparefund kasi gusto ko tlga yung headphone that's why I just want it replaced.

I ordered 2 items in lazada(COD)december 12,2016..i only received 1 tracking number and 1 notification email tagged as out for delivery..when the parcel was delivered yesterday afternoon(dec.15)..i paid the courier(lbc) the full amount of what i ordered, thinking it was 2 items..but when i opened the parcel..it was only 1 item(unic uc28).i thought maybe that the other item(unic uc40) was shipped separately,but there was no email notification and tracking number for the other item,also i paid the full amount already ...my bad..i didnt check it before paying..i could have opt not to received it.i emailed lazada yesterday,but all i get was automated replies..i try to contact customer support to no avail..return items option is also useless because whats to return if you dont have the item...need help here..thanks..

    Received the (defective and has signs of usage) item last dec 9.

    Returned the item on dec 10.

    Lazada contacted me dec 12 to tell me that my refund is approved.

    Then they emailed me dec 14 that i can claim my refund sa lbc.

    Still hassle though. Mejo takot na ko bumili uli. Nakakadala.

Hi Ms MARIA M.M.C. kasi i just returned my item to lazada today (shoes, masyado malaki ang size) so i asked for a replacement. wala naman hiningi yung lazada ng details like kung anong size ang gusto kong ipa-replace when I was filling out the return form. do they send you an e-mail acknowledging the receipt of the item and asks you what item would you wish to have it replaced with?

    And just now so nakarating na sa warehouse nila for checking and also na approve na rin siya nakaresiv na rin ako sa email ko ng confirmation na 2 business working days tapos mag email sila ulit take note po na store credit ang pinili kong refund..

    An tanong ko po kung sakali na bigyan ako ng voucher code to buy another item like ang amount ng item na nireturn ko kasi is 2000 pesos sabihin nalang natin. Pwede ba akong mag order ng mas mahal mataas sa value ng nireturn ko tapos yung kulang na bayad via cash on delivery ko nalang babayaran.

    Voucher amount balance = 2000
    Ordered another ite = 3000

    May sobra na 1000
    then yang sobra bayaran ko nalang via cod

    Pwede ba yan?

    1. Yup, pwede. You just add the additional amount needed. Ganyan din dun sa refund voucher na natanggap ko. Ginamit ko rin sa Lazada. Automatically deducted yung amount ng voucher when you enter the code so yung natitirang amount na lang bayaran mo.

    i ordered a cellphone case from lazada.... from china yung product..nung dumating yung case...erong size so sinoli ko thru lazada... sabi sa page nila 5-15 business days daw ang refund.. agter a week tumawag ako sa lazada to follow-up then dun ko lang nalaman na 45 days pa daw pala pag debit card (LAZADA, PLEASE SET YOUR CUSTOMER'S EXPECTATION NG MAAYOS, DI YUNG PAASA KAYO)...so un nga..ok 45 days... well sana nga makuha ko ying refund... though it just 470 plus... aist... P#&$?+/ LAZADA!
