No Bake Mac and Cheese Filipino Style

I'm not a good cook but I sometimes get hyped up with cooking, specially, when there's something interesting to try. I love baked Mac to begin so after seeing a relative (somewhat, not by blood, long story :) cook a no bake Mac and Cheese, I thought of giving it a try.

No Bake Mac and Cheese Ingredients

It's easy actually. Just start with the ingredients which are almost similar to what you'll get for spaghetti. These include tomato sauce, meat, and cheese. Most people don't add creme or condensed milk but that's what makes Filipino style different from the original Italian pasta; it's sweeter. Even the sauce brand in the image below offers this distinct taste.

For meat, I chose turkey franks instead of the usual hotdogs. But you can use any other meat substitute you'd like. I also added olive oil to sauté onion and garlic, along with the bite sized franks.

To start cooking, the elbow macaroni should be pre-boiled in salt; not overcooked. There are cooking instructions to follow at the packaging so you'll do well. Once cooked, set it aside. Next, drizzle a pan with cooking oil to sauté onion and garlic followed by the meat, tomato sauce and cream. Slowly mix in the macaroni once the sauce is cooked or at least boiling.

I placed the final product in microwavable containers for later consumption. They were also partitioned for one meal's seating.

Place slices of quick melt cheese before reheating on the microwave.

Here's how it looks like after the cheese melts.
