The Church of St. Mary the Virgin Sagada Mt. Province

The Church of St. Mary the Virgin is one of the first places we saw in Sagada. It's within the town proper so you can actually stroll around right after touch down; or at least, after dropping your things in a hotel and registering at the local tourism office.

The church is Episcopalian and originated from England. Episcopalian churches are Anglican and follows both Protestant and Catholic faith practices.

The church dates back to the early 1900's and is purely made of stone. It also features stained glass windows comparable to European structures (sadly, not in photo though).

This is an interesting artifact found right outside the church marked with the date A.D. 1921.

Roam around and you'll find more antique items.

The church is situated above the community of hotels and other residential lodges.

Here's a view from the edge of the hill holding the church grounds.

Those buildings are mostly hotels and residential lodges for rent to tourists.

There is no fee when visiting the church premises but do observe silence to respect the solemnity of the place, like any other church.

Address
