Uber is now extending service coverage after all of Metro Manila and Cebu to include areas east of Metro Manila including Rizal province starting May 2, 2016.
The expansion will require an additional Php60 East Surcharge on top of the usual fares for trips TO the East (not from) as per the press release in order to cover expenses associated with the trip as well as to sustain drivers who will most likely have longer wait times in between trips. All of it goes to drivers and not Uber.
Covered Areas
- Cainta
- Some areas of Taytay
- Select areas of Antipolo
- Selected areas of San Mateo
Since the areas are just pre-selected at the moment, you need to enter your destination first and hit the REQUEST button on the app. It will let you know if the area you entered is outside the currently covered areas.
