JML Power Blender Smoothie Maker

Determined to become more healthy, I decided to incorporate fruits into my diet (as well as my husband's). Fruits will replace at least one meal per day. And to make it easier to eat fruit, I'll make a smoothie drink each time. But to make such a drink, a smoothie maker is needed.

We already have a blender at home but it's messy to use and a pain to clean. Hence, I searched for smoothie maker products over the web. I was supposed to settle for one that's being advertised at Facebook by an online shopping site but then I stumbled upon the JML Power Blender at the SM Southmall department store.

JML Power Blender

The JML Power Blender is a power blender indeed. Despite it's size, it can powerfully cut through fruit slices and even ice in one go. It's more convenient to use than the usual blenders too. You can just drink the smoothie or shake straight from the bottle after blending.

JML is a UK made brand. In the Philippines, the usual price is around Php 1,500. I got mine through a promo price that comes with 3 bottles instead of 1.

Fruit Juice with Milk

You can add half a cup or one cup of fresh milk to a serving of fruits to make the fruit drink creamier. A spoonful of sugar is optional for your sweet tooth. Almost all fruits taste good with milk. Some of those I've tried include mango, melon, papaya, pineapple, grapes, strawberry, and apple. These are readily available at your supermarkets and fruit stands.

  2. Sadly, the blender stopped working after a few weeks (less than a month) of daily use. They do have warranty though so you can take it back for repair. I didn't though.

  3. Have you noticed underneath the tumbler after using the blender there is somewhat black residue from its blade shaft and bushing?...is it safe? Will it not mixed to the food?tnx...need your reply ...

    2. Oh thats sad...for how many days does it last?

    3. I used it several times per day for the first few weeks. I think it didn't last a month but I was too lazy to bring it back to where I purchased it.

    4. I bought mine at sm department store last week in hopes that i may introduce more fruit/veggie diet on my daily meals. I used my unit today and prepared a pineapple smoothie. I introduced some ice cubes but unfortunately the ice were not crushed the way described to me by the salesperson. It chipped some of the ice and turned it ball shape, the ice were not crushed anymore after that. The unit was ok but i did noticed a black residue underneath the bottle. Maybe it's a lubricant for the motor? I did not taste anything unusual with the pineapple shake i made though. With all the complains that i read on the replies, maybe this product must be band by DTI?

    5. That should be DTI's discretion. It's up to them to respond. The problem most likely is that not everyone who complains follows through with the entire process and just lets it be.

    1. True. I wrote this review when the product was still working but it stopped working less than a month (if I remember right) when I bought it. There is still warranty but I cannot find the receipt anymore. I should have listened to my husband who said that this blender may not last long because the motor is too small. The seller reassured me. I took his word. But it turns out that it's all sales talk.

  5. Mine too got broken. I often use mine since i have a big blender. But when i use it today, it's not working anymore. We bought this 5mos ago and I only used it like 4x.. Can't find any service center. That's why they gave me extra 2 tumbler when I bought this. Ang dali pala masira. Totally waste of money.

    1. If you still have the receipt, you can bring it back to where you purchased it from for repairs or any other option they may offer. I lost my receipt and the store where I got it from is a bit far, we rarely visit due to traffic.

  8. I purchased this blender two months ago.My wife and I were disappointed because every time we use it, it has a burnt smell and we see smoke coming from the motor base. I do not recommend this product because you will just waste your money if you will buy it.

    1. If it's still within warranty, maybe you can bring it back. I have no idea if a new unit will make a difference though.

  9. I bought one for my husband. He was very excited in using it. After a day use, even when following instructions, The motor died. We argued for the misplaced receipt since the salesman said theres a lifetime warranty for motor. Now, we cant find the receipt.

    1. I wasn't able to bring it back to the original store where I purchased it. It was from an SM mall but not the ones nearby. The closest SM branch referred us to the actual mall where we got it.

Long story short, I didn't even get to use to warranty.

  11. Hello, I also bought mine and after 3x use, the burnt smell appears coming from the motor base. Luckily, I was able to keep the receipt with me so I can send it back to SM Sta. Rosa for refund. I hope they will accept refund, if not at least, or any exchange that worth the same price of blender.

    1. Good for you. I'm not sure how long is the return/exchange policy for SM but it can be between 7-30 days for more stores.

  12. Too bad I wasn't ale to read this blog sooner. I bought one. Used it for one month then the motor died. Will bring it to SM with no receipt since the salesman says no receipt needed. But if things don't work out with SM, I'll just attach it to out old blender.

  16. This sells as it is cheap mass produced. May extra bottles pa. Duh!

  17. To keep the motor from "burning" you have to use it is burst mode...huwag tuloy tuloy. Definitely not heavy. After several uses, you see black bits, and sometimes black liquid oozing out from the bottom.

I don't know if you can open the bottom of the bottle to clean it properly?

  22. I do have a worst nightmare with JML product... it was a air purifier. We use for a month and it stopped working. We were advised to buy a new adaptor and yes it worked for another month but then it stopped working again. We decided to return it as it was under warranty. It is one year now and they have not repaired it nor give me a replacement. I have constantly following up and they keep on saying that the parts is still in Manila. I was trying to look for a website where i can contact their main office and found this blog full of complaints. Therefore their products are just a waste of money. I bought the air purifier for Php3,349.50.

  26. Congratulations, after purchase you now own a very expensive tumbler because the motor does not work any more after several uses. Dont waste your money on this brand.

  27. Hi, i bought mine around 2015 or 2016 and it is still working up to now. The motor is still functioning smoothly like new. The problem is that the tumbler wont fit properly when I twist it in place. The blender will not operate when this is the case. I think the rubber lining has become deformed.
